The Position:
Idesco Corp. is looking to hire a
Project Manager. The position is based
in New York City – 37 West 26
th Street, New York, NY 10010.
The primary function of
this position is to manage multiple, concurrent projects of varying sizes by
coordinating internal and external labor to meet our high standards and
customer expectations.
A successful project
manager will finish his project on time, stay on budget, meet all the project requirements
and make sure that customers are fully satisfied.
The Project Manager will
report directly to the Operations Manager.
Essential
duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Extensively utilize
information systems to plan, initiate, manage, and close out projects
- Work performed on
construction sites and, as-needed when required to complete a project, install
equipment in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, which may involve
climbing ladders, working above ceilings, etc.
- Plan, schedule and
control the installation process from start to finish, ensuring all project
requirements are delivered on time
- Achieve financial
objectives by preparing a project budget, approving expenditures, monitoring
variances, and initiating corrective actions
- Order equipment and
manages delivery for all project installations
- Establish project team
by sourcing, qualifying and negotiating with subcontractors, or directing
internal technicians
- Coordinate the work of
all technicians and subcontractors with the Site Superintendent / General
Contractor
- Hold team members
accountable for assigned deliverables at specified milestones, remedying
variances through coaching, counseling and collaborating
- Inspect the quality of
the work done by technicians and subcontractors, directing rework when quality
standards are not achieved
- Manage projects through
the consistent use of a centralized company database, enabling both Project
Managers and company management to access accurate and timely project status
reports
- Anticipate and identify
problems early and implements solutions that appear seamless to our customers,
including negotiating and implementing appropriate change orders
- Approve all project
documents in a timely manner from technicians and sub-contractors, validating
accuracy of each item or requests corrected forms
- Meet all requirements
related to project closeout, including AHJ approvals and final invoicing
- Act as the champion for
safety practices for each installation
- Have final
responsibility for the quality of finished projects that are assigned
- Confirm user acceptance
and conducts/coordinates customer training / activation sessions
Job
requirements:
Candidates must meet or
exceed the following job requirements:
- Experience in
installing security systems (intrusion, surveillance, or access control) in
commercial environments
- Knowledge of Access
Control Systems (Amag, S2, Lenel or Genetec)
- Ability to manage all
aspects of installation projects and direct the activities of technicians
- Proficient computer
skills for scheduling, communicating, tracking and calculating
- Familiarity with a
variety of construction concepts, practices and procedures
- Must pass
pre-employment background check & drug screen
- Must have a valid
driver's license
Preferred Qualifications:
- Related diploma/degree
in a technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Project management
certification
